Possibly the most fun I have shooting is festival coverage (it's also possibly the hardest work), but whether it be a full weekend or a day, shot list or free rein, crowd participation is equally as important as the front page shots of the headline act, but there are packages to suit all shapes and sizes.
Shooting for both labels and venues, a quick lesson learnt for gigs is that time really is of the essence. Each concert is different, but most give you a small time slot to capture your shots, so I approach each gig with a rough plan of the shots I want to leave with, then adapt to suit the specifics of the show.
DJ's and Night Shows
It is often not lowkey at the night show - but it is fantastic opportunity to capture those lasers and epic stage lighting setups that are so often taken for granted. The crowd also tend to be a little loose, the later the night goes on, which is reliably entertaining to look back on.
